Counseling for LGBTQ+ Community

As a fellow member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, I pride myself in offering all of my clients open-minded, accepting, and understanding counseling services. I provide a safe space for all members of the LGBTQ+ community to be their authentic selves without judgment or criticism. I believe that it is important for you to be aware of that before we would begin any sort of work together.one of my top priorities is that all of my clients to feel comfortable and safe with me as their therapist.

I have extensive training and experience in working with all of the following populations:

  • Homosexual individuals

  • Bisexual individuals

  • Trans individuals (MTF and FTM)

  • Polyamorous individuals

  • The Kink community

  • Non-binary individuals

  • Individuals uncertain of or exploring their orientation and/or gender identity

Counseling is not a one size fits all sort of experience. I believe it to be important for you, as the client, to be informed about the experience and viewpoint of the provider you are potentially going to work very vulnerably with. At face value, counseling with a client that identifies as a member of the LGBTQ+ community isn’t different than counseling with a client identifying as straight and cis. However, when you dig a bit deeper, many member’s of the LGBTQ+ community have very unique life experiences that those outside of the community cannot understand. I believe that a counselor working with the community should be aware of and educated on those differences in order to be an effective provider.

If you are interested in chatting with me more on my work with the LGBTQ+ community or are interested in starting counseling services with me, please contact me here. I would love to talk with you about how I can best support you.
